Writing, Podcast, and YouTube
I have been fortunate to spend much of my life on the move.
Some of that movement came through work—leading public transportation systems in Seattle, Oakland/East Bay, and Los Angeles, helping launch Zipcar, and traveling widely through the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Some of it came through curiosity.
And some of it came simply from a growing belief that place matters.
Where we go shapes how we see.
What we notice.
What we remember.
What questions we ask.
Over time, I began to realize that travel was doing more than taking me somewhere new.
It was teaching me to pay attention.
To people.
To landscapes.
To contradictions.
To moments I might otherwise have missed.
That way of seeing eventually found its way into my writing, my podcast, and my conversations with others.
This page is a reflection of that journey.
Not just where I have been geographically—but what those places have taught me about connection, community, memory, humility, and the extraordinary power of ordinary moments.
Some places leave you with photographs.
Others leave you with questions.
The ones I remember most tend to leave me with both.
Some Places I’ve Been
Each place has offered something different—a lesson, a surprise, a memory, or a change in perspective.
